Oatmeal Butter Shrimp


Look at this aromatic vegetarian shrimp cooked with butter and oatmeal. The aromatic curry leaves produces a wonderful aroma to the dish. This vegetarian shrimp is made from soya bean protein, starch and its spices and can be found in any vegetarian grocery stores. It taste real delicious and be assured the kids would love it very much. Fast and easy to prepare too. It is not spicy at all, the dried chilly is to add extra aroma together with the fried curry leaves.


If you are not in favour of soya bean protein (vegetarian shrimp), then just use the fresh shrimp and cook it with the same recipe.

This is the vegetarian shrimp or some called it vege nuggets
label shows it consist of soya bean protein, starch + spices, salt, sugar


All you need :
  • packet of the vegetarian shrimp - defrost before use
  • 5 pieces of dried chilly - cut into 3cm length
  • 3 sprigs of curry leaves
  • 3 Tbs of butter
  • 3 Tbs of oatmeal
Simple Process :
  • Heat the pan with butter over medium heat and saute the dried chilly and curry leaves till aromatic
  • Add in the oatmeal and stir well before adding the vege shrimps and give it a good stir to coat it with the ingredients
  • Ready within 15 mins of cooking time
